Minority Movie Report - Mike

Why do people hate Transformers 2??? I know Michael Bay doesn't really believe in plots and I know he can't direct character interactions like David Mamet... I also knew that I cannot compare his work to Charlie Kaufman!!

I don't remember much about the original TV series plot (I just checked a few episodes and I think Michael Bay stayed true the cracked out story) but I remember the robots. I went in hoping to see robots beat the crap out of each other, Megan Fox doing what she does best... being eye candy and that's what I got! What were people expecting from a movie based on toys that Hasbro was trying to sell. The Autobots and the Decepticons looked great and realistic...

Mr. Bay had to give them some weird and sometimes questionable personalities once in a while but visually... The special effects were awesome! Did you not see the giant freakin' robots?? That is what I paid for!!!

IT WAS TRANSFORMERS!!!!! ROBOTS IN DISGUISE!!!

All you need to enjoy it is popcorn and an Imax theater ticket...

Now... could we use this technology to make something with a plot that makes sense? Yes! Should Michael Bay direct a live action Evagelion, Gasaraki or even Appleseed? No!! But whoever picks up one of these has to use ILM's special effects to make it look good!
